My life has changed quite a bit since Med School and our limited 80hr weeks make it difficult to deal with problems should they arise. Some Residencies are long enough(5+) years that you could have in theory paid off 1/3 of a 15 year mortgage. Most of us would need help with the down payment etc. because we are already in debt with our school loans. I agree with the above, at times I wish I had bought but I am glad I didn’t.
